I was a bit shocked at first. Someone else thinking of me, online no less.
Who am I to refuse such a sweet gesture as this?
Thanks to
SaintVI for prompting me to think about this, and to all those who recommended
her post.
When she told me to look at her latest post, I was thinking it was a basic request - like many of us do. We ask for those we've connected with to view something so we can get some feedback.
But, when I read the post, and saw what she was saying - I was stunned.
She actually thought of me while watching that commercial.
How often do you think of others while watching TV or reading an article?
Well, in any event, I've been rather swamped with projects as of late - and this week was rather busier than normal. I didn't want to just say, "yes, I'll do it" - without considering the rest of my work load.
I also wanted to be sure that others would want me to. Sometimes when one sits behind a computer for awhile, one doesn't know what they are capable of outside the realm of the internet.
Various questions popped into my mind:
- how much more of a crazy person must I be to fill those shoes?
- how could this bless the Xanga Community? After all, it would be those who encouraged me to do it - (of course my wife has prompted me to try it as well). Could it be a positive PR move for an online community to encourage others to be a success? of course...but I digress...
- how much time will it take? Primarily to get the demo track together, or time to travel to an audition. What else is involved in this endevor? travel? being a spokesperson?
So, I know I told SaintVI that if she gets 100 recommends I'll do it. But upon reading the comments of her post, I'm rather encouraged. To be honest, I wanted people to see what she does on a regular basis. She's always blessing others - whether it be from a word of encouragement, an uplifting post, or in a few instances - baked goods.
At the writing of this post, Saintvi had 69 recommends on her
original post. Seriously, that was too cool. Yeah, I said 100 - but seriously - do you think I'd pass this opportunity up? nahh... But somehow I needed that extra push of encouragement, and y'all provided that - and I share a heartfelt thank you.
I wish there was a way y'all could vote and pass along a word to those who have to choose the talent - but I'm sure they'll have enough on their plate in the coming weeks.
Well - I did a couple of tracks and already submitted one to the Audition.
Here they are, which one do you think I sent?
Take 1:
Take 2:
Thank you all again, and I hope they choose someone worthy of their organization.
(WOAH!! Thank you all for your support on their facebook page...hope they don't get offended.
