For those that don't know, I also work on another site, Howtolearn.com.
Well, we're testing something out, and it's been fun seeing various results come in on how people learn best.
Are you a visual learner? an Auditory learner? or learn best via kinesthetic (take the quiz to find out what that means)
Take a few moments and take this test. Let us know how you learn best. Hey, it's just one way to get to know each other more. Post your results in the comments section below.
Here's my results:
43% Visual
43% Auditory
14% Kinesthetic
Thanks to all those who have taken this quiz already.
Interesting how many people are visual and auditory learners.
Don't forget to recommend/like the post. :)

No surprises there.
36% visual
45% auditory18% kinestheticI'd say pretty accurate
29% visual, 36% auditory, 36% kinesthetic -- that's pretty accurate -- I tend to learn by writing down what I am hearing, for example.
Hm. First time I tried to get my results it said IE couldn't open the link or some such. I shall try again, but in case it doesn't work, I can take it on that website, right?

@TheMarriedFreshman - yes, let me know how if it worked out. I'll send you the link if necessary. We're testing this thing out to see how well it works on other sites.
Haha, oh right the email. I'm good. :P
56% Visual
33% Auditory
11% Kinesthetic
That's pretty accurate because when I spell a word, remember an event or childhood memory, or relate a dream I had, it's all in vivid, detailed pictures. I don't see pictures of what the spelling word represents--I see the word itself. Usually in a black Garamond-esque font...
However, my prime way of learning is to see a person talking, preferably using slides of some kind (even if it's just words), listen to what they say and what they place emphasis on, and then take prolific notes about everything. That's by far my favorite way to learn. I like conferences a lot. lol.
Now I shall take this test as if I were my 5 year old and see what results SHE might get because home schooling will let me cater to her learning styles. :)

@edlives - Yeah, my browser doesn't seem to like the results page. Just the results page, for some reason. But the email gets to me just fine, so perhaps a small note that if the results don't show you can check your email?

welp that sounds like me...smile
That was fun! Will definitely share it with friends.
It says I failed.
Actually, I don't like this type of test because many of the questions are misleading. For example, how much a person likes sports might simply be a means of enjoying watching an intense competition and speaks more to entertainment rather than learning styles. After all, I know people who love sports that they know almost nothing about. Also, many of the questions are either/or when a person well could be both. The test stresses placing importance on the one the person might think is the more enjoyable while they may actually learn better from the other and often the combination may be required. I, for example, learn things both visually and from an auditory standpoint and can often replay scenes (audio and/or visual) like a camcorder in my head. That is not to say my memory is photographic but merely that I can often reply specific details quite specifically. Were I to try to determine if it was more auditory than visual by asking if I like to hear stories rather than read them, the answer would be very misleading. I love hearing stories and reading is a chore but when I play back the hearing of those stories, I have the visual of the person telling it in my mind and can be very visual in remembering locations of items, etc. Therefore, my initial statement is correct. I failed the test... or rather, the test failed me.
@Legendairy - thanks for sharing how you really feel. :)
@edlives - Anytime. Yeah, but it's okay though. I failed the personality test too. haha
50% Auditory
50% Visual

Weird...it's probably not normal to get zero percent of a category...
24% Visual
43% Auditory
33% Kinesthetic
Pretty even. Just like I thought. I've never felt like I had one dominant style, and that I kind of shifted around between styles depending on my mood.
41% Visual
32% Auditory
27% Kinesthetic
Sounds about right!
Sounds about right. Was a little surprised that auditory was higher than kinesthetic though.
@edlives - Hey Joel,
Pat Wyman of HowToLearn.com here -thanks to all for the comments on the Learning Styles Quiz. It has so many uses in our lives- imagine understanding how your family member's learn best - hey, we might all understand each other more -what about teachers and employers - this could really make a difference here -and then again with our friendships and loves.
What is your roomie is neat and organized (visual) and you are more kinesthetic and tend not to clean up too often - talking about your learning styles can help you communicate better.
All good - the comments are insightful - I especially like the one about seeing the word in your mind when you want to spell -that's exactly what spelling bee champions do!
@Legendairy - Hey thanks for the comment - it makes sense. Actually, this is a simply inventory of likes and dislikes, and helps a person determine their three primary processing styles in percentages.
There is no right or wrong here - and when people learn, then tend to use 1-3 of their styles, and in another activity they might defer to just one of the styles.
So, no test - just information. The person who wrote about seeing words in their mind is actually providing a strategy for those who learn to spell easily. If all people who want to make spelling simple, it makes the learning easier if they do this.
Think of this as a tool rather than a test -

interesting..but quiet accurate. I learn best with all three. I have to see it, hear the explanation and then execute it myself as practice.
