Many of us who blog just want to share some basic thoughts - or at least want to journal down some ideas now and then for later reference.
Many of us who blog also want to have a sense of privacy, hence the usernames and not wanting to connect with people using Facebook.
I started my blogging as a means to get my ideas down, and a way to vent some thoughts. Of course I started blogging prior to Facebook.
Never in my decade of blogging would I have thought about managing a site, let alone one about Autism.
What does it all mean? I haven't a clue, but what I do know is that as I continue down this journey I will have to be a little more transparent - a little more aware of who I am, especially as I write down these thoughts.
Who knows, I may find out more about myself in the process.
Will I like what I discover about myself? Will you?
hmmm...
Why do you Blog?Until later, I'm fried.

Interesting question. I first started blogging almost 7 years ago. A girl I met told me about xanga. I thought it would make a nice journal and a place to meet people.
Have you seen this book? The Transparent Self by Sidney Marshall Jourard (1981)
Interesting side note. I knew him slightly and he died when his car fell on him as he was doing repair work.@bmojsilo - very cool. I was blogging elsewhere online, and searched for a place that would have the functionality I needed - along with the ability to reach out and meet people. Xanga fit the mold.
@vexations - I saw that book at Barnes and Nobles awhile back - looked interesting. I'll have to go back to take a look at it. Sorry to hear about his death, though.
I like to put amusing stories out where people might read them. It makes me happy.
It started as a small group discussion on journaling, my friend and I agreed we would start our own online blog. I followed through, he did not. Later, at a writer's seminar, we were told it was a great way to develop writing skills, get your ideas out.,see if it sparks interest. Mostly, I use my blog to work out my inner conflict, doing what is right vs what my flesh is screaming out for me to do. It have been very helpful in my decision making process but also has given me a healthy place to say what's on my mind without the conflict which can usually follow.
Good entry!!! I like blogging as a way to vent fustrastions and journal What I like about here vs. FB Is FB I physically know most of the people on my FB Here I feel more free to speak my mind and thoughts... but I think of it as a fun creative way of journaling whichI love to journal but... I love the feedback I get from the comments and the interactiveness it provides... It's interactive journaling you get to meet people that understand where you are and or give postive ideas to help ya change your thought process to whatever you may face and or imput on whats going on! I WILL Always Love xanga first before FB! :) Love the way ya did this! I think too you do find out more about yourself in the process as ya look back and reflect old entries!
Really nice entry and thought provoking! :) <3
I basically don't "blog". Transparency is for the inhuman.
I blog for no particular reason, that's why I always M.I.A from Xanga.
I started blogging as a way to vent my frustrations and express how I'm feeling. Now I blog for no reason, creating random posts and just writing about random information.
