Day 11 - The Campaign Continues #WeAreXanga

It's been a great first 11 days, with already hitting 40% in our campaign to reach $60,000.
34 days to go, and we've just got started.
For the past week or so I've been sharing the hashtag #WeAreXanga.
This is to show that we are a community of people with an extreme and diverse set of backgrounds and experiences.
We may agree and or disagree on any topic shared, but we unite when the cause is right, and I'm encouraged to see so many stepping up to do the right thing.
Of course we could blog on other platforms, but what really do those other platforms offer? Do they have our community?
We would like this Xanga 2.0 to be free, but the challenge Xangateam has is to get us over to the new platform.
Yesterday I shared a thought. I stepped back an thought about what @thexangateam is really asking. This is just an observation...
In order for us to move into Xanga 2.0, they are asking current members to pledge to go premium - and are asking premium members to pledge as well.
With premium members pledging, they can gift their reward from the campaign to the free bloggers - to help maintain our community.
Speaking from my perspective, I wouldn't be surprised if some level of free blogging was offered sometime after the relaunch - but Xanga has to address what we have to deal with now.
They could answer that idea after we take care of the here and now, in my opinion.
We are all waiting for an update from @thexangateam on their blog, and I'm sure it will be coming soon.
But we don't have to wait on them to take action - we can do what we can until they make sure they are ready to say what they want to say next.
#WeAreCommunity - and to many of us, Xanga is our blogging home - with people we've met over the years.
Let's preserve our community.

Awesome!
I was a bit worried the pace of donations have slowed. $60K isn't a very large number and there's probably still a fair bit of Xangans sitting on the fence.
The XangaTeam needs to update in a new post with the crowdhoster link much more prominent. I go back to the XangaTeam's last post now and then to see the progress of donations' completion on crowdhoster. And I have to dig dig deep into the narrative before I find the link among other Xanga links. It is very confusing.
Can Xanga put a short message and link to crowdhoster at the top of the page whenever someone logs into their private Home page?
The need to make a simple crowdhoster link ubiquitous absolutely everywhere they can with a short explanation of need and a link back to a XangaTeam post in the event that someone needs more information details before contributing.
The XangaTeam should post everday anew and assure they are at the top of everyday's "Today's Top Blogs" and make sure they are in a link for "Featured Xangans"and have a prominent top link on all aggregated subdomains (like hk.xanga.com, etc. - this carries 25% of all Xanga's traffic and they have not mention at all about the postured imminent closedown) plus have a contribution link, if possible, on every private Home login page.
@notforprophet - "Can Xanga put a short message and link to crowdhoster at the top of the page whenever someone logs into their private Home page?" -
Excellent Idea!
I'll pass that along right now.
I don't think they should post every day on it but it is time for them to post again or send out a mass email to keep it going.
