  • Day 23 - The Campaign Continues [YES YOU CAN]

I've often observed how many people here on Xanga have been encouraged by each other.   How many times we've sat alone, trying to convey our thoughts into this online world, and have moments of hope being shared as a response.

Some have done this as a form of therapy, as it is a release of things past - the jotting down of struggles that we go through.

Memories are important, and should be placed in safekeeping.   Communities should help one another in times of struggle.

Indulge me for a moment as I share what Xanga has done for me.

I've been blogging now for about a decade or more, always trying to improve my writing style.   I've witnessed the best and worst that the internet has offered.

I found Xanga when trying to find a blogging platform that was easy and free to use.  I would've even paid money for a platform if it was worthwhile - as writing to me is very cathartic.

It was by chance that I started connecting with various people on this platform.   I started seeing where I could help some people, and encourage others.

What I found was a blogging home, with online friends and collaborators going through the high's and low's in their life, as I was mine.

We all have memories here.   I remember reading a post one night of a young man studying for a test the following day.  I followed his blog.   A few days later I found out that he and his sister were both killed - and the last post he wrote was used in evidence in court.

I remember several times where two people have met on Xanga, and realized they met a kindred spirit - and some even get married and have kids.

I remember Xanga Meetups, these impromptu half scheduled out meetings of folks in public places - where we take the online world and go offline together.

I remember some folks fighting and beating cancer, the losing of loved ones, and fellow xangans providing notes of encouragment during the hardest parts of people's lives.

I can't tell you how many times I've been encouraged during my own struggles as a father of a child with Autism.   I do speak of Autisable a lot, and of thexangateams efforts in helping get that site launched - but it's because of folks like you that I get encouraged and lifted up.

Several years ago I was introduced to Team Hoyt.   It's the story of a father who wants to provide a dream for his son, and what he goes through to make that dream happen every day.

For me, you xangans and thexangateam are my team hoyt.

You inspire me everyday - and keep me motivated to understand my son - and to help other families going through what we're going through.

These updates with Xanga 2.0 could be applied to Autisable as well - and so I've always viewed the fundraising campaign to not just be about Xanga and Xangans, but also to Autisable, therefore helping thousands of families dealing with Autism.

These improvements are much more sweeping and beneficial than what we can realize at this moment.

Thank you for indulging me, and for pledging your support - it means a great deal to me personally.
